Hey everyone,
I’ve been reading up on the potential of edge computing in reducing latency for AR/VR applications, and it seems like it could make a significant difference. As we know, AR and VR require extremely low latency to create immersive, real-time experiences. Any delay in rendering or processing can cause motion sickness or break the illusion of reality.
Edge computing processes data closer to the source (like on local servers or devices), rather than sending everything to a distant cloud. This could reduce the time it takes for data to travel back and forth, improving responsiveness in AR/VR apps. With edge computing, we could also offload some of the computational work from the device, potentially increasing performance without relying too heavily on device hardware.
Has anyone here worked on AR/VR projects or tested edge computing solutions for latency? What have you found in terms of performance improvements?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
