If you are short on time but still want a true Himalayan trekking experience, then the Mardi Himal Trek 6 days is the perfect choice. I recently completed this trek with a few close friends, and it turned out to be one of the most peaceful and scenic journeys we’ve ever taken. We walked through quiet forests, saw some of the best views of the Annapurna range, and enjoyed the simplicity of life in the mountains. It was short, sweet, and unforgettable.
This trail is less crowded than other popular treks like Annapurna Base Camp or Ghorepani Poon Hill, which gave us a chance to enjoy nature in silence. We wanted something refreshing and not too demanding, and Mardi Himal gave us exactly that.
Starting the Trek
Our journey began in Pokhara, a lovely lakeside city that always feels calm and welcoming. After a short drive to Kande, we started our trek. The first day was exciting as we walked uphill through rhododendron forests and peaceful villages. We stopped at Australian Camp for a quick break and continued toward Pothana, where we spent our first night.
The guesthouse was simple, but the view of the mountains at sunset was something special. We sat outside with tea in our hands and watched the sky turn orange behind the peaks.
Walking Through Forests and Ridges
On the second day, we hiked from Pothana to Forest Camp. The trail led us deep into the woods. Tall trees surrounded us, and the air was cool and fresh. We could hear birds chirping and the wind moving through the leaves. There were few other trekkers around, which made the walk feel peaceful and personal.
We continued to Low Camp the next day. As we gained altitude, the trees became shorter and the views wider. When we reached Low Camp, we were rewarded with our first clear sight of Mardi Himal and Machapuchare — the famous Fishtail Mountain. It felt like the trek was really starting to show its magic.
Reaching High Camp and the Viewpoint
Day four took us to High Camp, one of the most exciting parts of the trek. The trail followed a narrow ridge with wide-open views of the mountains on one side and deep valleys on the other. We took our time, stopping to take photos and enjoy the cool mountain breeze.
High Camp was colder, but the excitement of being close to the viewpoint kept our spirits high. We met other trekkers there and shared stories over dinner. The feeling of being close to the clouds made everything feel peaceful and powerful at the same time.
Early the next morning, we woke up before sunrise and hiked to the Mardi Himal Viewpoint. The climb was steep, but the view was worth every step. The sun slowly lit up the Annapurna range, and we stood there in silence, watching the sky turn gold behind the snowy peaks. That moment will stay with us forever.
Returning to Pokhara
After enjoying the viewpoint, we returned to High Camp for breakfast and then started our descent. We passed through Siding village, a quiet and beautiful place that gave us a glimpse into local mountain life. From there, we drove back to Pokhara, tired but full of joy.
Final Thoughts
The Mardi Himal Trek 6 days was short but powerful. It gave us the perfect mix of adventure, quiet time in nature, and stunning mountain views. We didn’t need weeks to feel connected to the Himalayas — just six simple days were enough to make memories that will last a lifetime.
If you are looking for a trek that is not too long, not too crowded, and full of beauty, then Mardi Himal is a great choice. We came back feeling refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of the next adventure.
